Next Gen finally as advanced as Last Gen?

Unlike the PS4’s DualShock 4 controller the Xbox One’s controller doesn’t have a standard headphone jack that allows you to plug any headphones you could possibly want to use into the controller.

That was the case UNTIL NOW!

It has been revealed via Microsoft’s Xbox Support Site that an upcoming version of the Xbox One controller will have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack meaning no more expensive adapters or using Xbox only headsets.

From the information released this sounds like the new standard from June this year which in some ways raises more questions than it answers, Will the price be going up? Will the old controllers be cheaper? what about all those people forced to buy official Microsoft adapters?

We will have to wait and see but here’s hoping there won’t be too many additional “improvements” that could give those with the new controller a competitive edge, there will no doubt be more details released during this years E3.
